October 19 and another one day session on Noveber 9 (10:00AM - 2:00PM)
This workshop, taught by Resident Artists Chris Harder, explores numerous possibilities for theatre making and storytelling. Participants will gain skills collaborating with an ensemble and learn a vocabulary for improvised movement in time and space. Students will incorporate multiple art forms and include personal writing, classical text, poetry, endowed objects, themes and a variety of formats for devising. We will examine how bodies tell stories in concert with kinesthetic responses, spatial relationships, shape, gesture, tempo, duration and architecture. Students will investigate with the full ensemble and in small groups creating and presenting multiple compositions throughout the workshop day.
